While ranch and split-level style homes may have been commonplace Greenwich’s neighborhoods a decade or two ago, stylistic preferences in this area have largely shifted in recent times. Cape Cod and updated colonial homes now engulf this coastal community’s col-de-sacs– and residents’ interiors feature a greater number of both Smart Home tech and futuristic cabinetry than ever before! Consequently, 1960’s builds oftentimes stick out like a sore thumb, leaving these homeowners more motivated than ever to revamp their interiors and exteriors with updates. When our new friends in Greenwich sought to modernize their own well-built yet dated dwelling, M&M Constructions’ team came in and totally switched things up.
Many aging homes are quick to be rendered undesirable or as “tear-down’s” by investors, developers and buying families alike. Outside of the home construction and renovation industry, you’ll see a lot of people judging a book by its cover (or, rather, a home at its visual face value), thus choosing to custom build instead of working off of a pre-existing home. Almost everyone enters a house hunt with a stylistic wishlist and list of non-negotiable features, but we much less often see someone inclined to go the fixer-upper route. Customizing your home can be equitably rewarding and significantly more cost-effective, especially when you enlist a contractor who knows their stuff.
Because this 60s home was so beautifully well-built and -maintained, it would have been a disservice to its integrity not to give it a facelift (or an entire makeover!). Now unrecognizable against its “old look,” we are psyched for this home’s owners to enjoy it and all of its refurbished glory. In taking an older, unexciting property and playing Fairy Godmother, the M&M Constructions staff has given this wonderful family a home that not only measures up with Greenwich’s new constructions, but also fits their wants and needs with precision.
